Book Club Members - Welcome to February 2012
Happy February! We hope this month brings sweets for you and your sweetheart! Here’s what your fellow Book Club members are reading:
Heather W.is reading The Colorado River, Flowing Through Conflict by Peter McBride and Jonathan Waterman. She says “This book takes you on a journey of the Colorado River with stunning photography and facts about the river's epic 1,450-mile journey from its headwaters high in the Colorado Rockies to its dried-up delta touching the Sea of Cortez. See for yourself the beauty, uses, stresses and need for protection of this precious resource. A quote from photographer Peter McBride says it all, "It shows what happens when you ask too much of a limited resource: It disappears."
Debbie S. says she is reading The Gang that Couldn't Shoot Straight by Jimmy Breslin. She says a friend recommended it. She says another friend suggested Wicket Appetite by Janet Evanovich, and Debbie plans on reading that one too!
Member Sheri E. says she recently read Left Neglected by Lisa Genova. “The writing is good, even humorous, even though it was a sad story about 37-year-old woman who is a typical working mother of three: overwhelmingly busy, exhausted, and overextended...until a car accident leaves her with a traumatic brain injury that erases the entire left side of her world. This is a real neurological condition. This is not a depressing book and I would recommend it.”
