Library News
Thornton’s new library getting ready to open
The newest library in Thornton is on the verge of opening. The new library at Huron and Conifer is scheduled to open Saturday, February 6. The 25,000 square foot library is designed to complement the Huron Green/Niver Creek trail setting to the south and Croke Drive neighborhood park to the north. “Every step through the library will offer a different relationship to the surrounding landscape and views,” says Rangeview Library District communications director Steve Hansen. “The soaring, light-filled library interior will greet library customers, and the main reading room and adult services area will come alive with window walls and a stunning fireplace.” The library will also boast a children’s library, a teen library, computer lab, and conference and study rooms. “This dramatic and inspiring branch library is designed to serve the current and growing populations of the surrounding communities for many years to come,” says Hansen. It will be a fitting house for the world’s great authors. For more information go to anythinklibraries.org.
