Happy May, Club Members!
This new month brings new opportunities for reading. Let us know what you’re reading, and we’ll feature it in our next newsletter! Here’s what fellow club members are reading:
Gina L. is reading Fire Season: Field Notes from a Wilderness Lookout by Philip Connors. “It’s a very interesting true story about a man who spends a good part of each year alone with his dog, watching for smoke plumes from a mountaintop in a national forest in New Mexico.
Sheri E. is reading The Other Boleyn Girl, by Philippa Gregory. She says, “It is fiction based on the history of King Henry VIII of England, his court and wives in the 16th century. It is the story of the two Boleyn sisters, Anne and Mary, who are rivals for the king’s attention.” Sheri also finished reading The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein, and says she agrees with a recommendation from Heather W. “This was a wonderful story about a dog’s love for his family, written through the eyes of the dog. I highly recommend it.” Sheri is in another book club and says their next book club selection is: The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. She says, “It has been highly recommended to me by several people. Has anyone read this?”
