Hello Book Club members!

The summer is winding down and fall is approaching! That will mean more time indoors and more time to curl up with a good book. If you need some suggestions, here’s what Thornton Book Club members are reading right now:

• What I Talk About When I Talk About Running- Haruki Murakami
• Kelli B. is reading: Olive Kitteridge- Elizabeth Strout. Amazon calls it “a heart-wrenching, penetrating portrait of ordinary coastal Mainers living lives of quiet grief intermingled with flashes of human connection.”
• The Historian- Elizabeth Kostova. Reviewofbooks.com says “Read The Historian as a love of history, travel, and humanity, with the mystery and evil of Dracula lurking in the background to jump out at you. ”
• The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America- Erik Larson
• Sarah R. is reading: Miles to Go-Miley Cyrus
• Lisa W. is reading: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies: The Classic Regency Romance - Now with Ultraviolent Zombie Mayhem! -Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith. Lisa W. says “this is a fun way to reintroduce yourself to a classic.”
• Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson- Ian Halperin
• Erika B. is reading: The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love -Jill Conner Browne. Erika B. says, “It’s a hilarious account of life as a Southern belle in an exclusive society.”
• Joaquin H. is reading: Where the Sidewalk Ends, Poems and Drawings - Shel Silverstein

The winner of our latest Book Club book giveaway is new member Maria DeSantis-John. She won a copy of the coffee table book Adams County, Colorado: Centennial History, by Albin Wagner. Rangeview Library District Web site now offers eBooks/audio books for download

Visitors to Rangeview Library Districts Web site have some new features to choose from. Library patrons can now download eBooks and audio books to their desktop. Once downloaded, digital titles can be enjoyed on their computer or MP3 player for 14 days. Web site visitors can also get suggestions on their next book by browsing through lists that feature award-winning books as well as local and national best-sellers. They can also sign up for the library districts e-newsletter to receive bonus services such as book reviews and information about authors.
