Happy Holidays Book Club Members!

New for the Book Club! What are you reading? A enthralling mystery, love story, comedy or Sci-Fi? Write a review about the book, give your recommendations and rate the book from 1-4 stars. This can be about books you are reading currently or books  you have read in the past. Your recommendations will appear on our new Web site coming soon. We’ll also include a short review for the December newsletter, and in the spring 2010 Inside Thornton magazine!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, so we have some holiday read recommendations for you and your kids. There are cookbooks to warm your tummy, kids books to warm your heart, and member recommendations to cozy up with.

Book Club member Sarah M. recommends Hello, Cupcake by Karen Tack and Alan Richardson.  “This cookbook features elaborate cupcakes, and shows how easy they are to make,” says Sarah. “This book has some fun designs for the holidays that will delight kids and adults.”

Book Club member Sheri E. recommends The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society – by Mary Ann Shaffer. She calls it “outstanding,” and says it’s “one of the best I’ve read in years.” Sheri also says that she is also reading Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum novel called: Eleven on Top. She says “It’s a nice break from heavy reading.”
